Last week saw an excellent 400 strong lobby and demonstration in support of London Met staff and students in the campaign to protect students, courses and jobs.
They are asking all branches to organise lunchtime solidarity protests outside colleges and universities this Friday, 14th September.
Last Friday’s meeting of the UCU Strategy and Finance Committee supported the call and also endorsed an emergency motion to go to this week’s TUC Conference.
Protest outside your college or university, jointly with NUS and other campus unions if possible, make some placards, get the local press along, send a photo to this website, the UCU website and to the campaign c/o email@example.com, and pass the attached solidarity motion. This is not just an HE issue – it has implications for FE as well.
People can also continue getting signatures on the e-petition here.
The campaign is also encouraging members to lobby their MPs to sign EDM 437 by Jeremy Corbyn demanding the lifting of the ban on London Met.
