UCU’s NEC elections decide the lay leadership of our union. NEC decisions affect how we deal with employers; which member issues we prioritise allocation of union resources to; how, if and when members are provided legal support; and what fighting fund support members who participate in strikes and marking boycotts receive.
It’s vital that members have a say on how our union is run and how the money raised through our subscriptions is allocated. This hugely affects the practical resourcing and solidarity UCU members rely on.
Who should you vote for?
In the current NEC by-elections, Loes Veldpaus (UK HE-elected) and Tania Wanjiru Manyuira (Women’s seat, pictured right) are candidates supported by UCU Left.
Both are experienced and trusted activists who will stand by members and respect their democratic decisions.
- HE members can vote for Loes for the HE seat.
- All members can vote for Tania in the Women’s seat.
